Diego CayuelasHe is born in Alicante (Spain). His mother transmits him the first musical notions, then he studies with Miguel Baró at the Superior Conservatory of Murcia and with Joaquín Soriano at the Royal Conservatory of Madrid. Between 1979 and 1987 he lives in Paris, obtaining the License of Concert in the “École Normale” in the class of Josep Colom and the First Prize of the CNSMP where he studies with Pierre Sancan, who exercises a decisive influence in his artistic formation. Exceptionally talented, he wins seven first prizes in national competitions, and he is prize-winner in the International Competitions " Ettore Pozzoli " (Italy) and " Premio Jaén " (Spain). Fine chamber musician, he plays very early with universally consecrated interpreters, as Arto Noras and Paul Tortelier in the International Festival of Cello of Nemours, winning a brilliant reputation as partner. Also, at the International Festival of Piano of Yokohama (Japan) he is cheered by the public and is greeted by the unanimous critiques. Diego Cayuelas recorded for the radio and the television in Spain, France and Japan; he played in soloist with prestigious orchestras, and in concerts of chamber music with Vicenç Prats, Paul Desenne and Sungsic Yang, among others. Since 1987 Diego Cayuelas is titular professor of chair and combine his activity of soloist with the pedagogy. Frecuently invited for masterclasses and jurys of piano competitions, he teaches at the Royal Conservatory of Madrid and the International Academy György Sebők at the Festival Piano aux Pyrénées (France). In Madrid, where he lives, Cayuelas played many times in important concert halls as Teatro Real or March Foundation, always obtening a big success by the public and the critique, what confirms him like a meaningful interpreter of his generation. Very soon will appear his registration dedicated to spanish composers of XXth and XXIth centuries.
